Hope and Healing Counseling Services

As a licensed professional counselor I believe that we all experience times in our lives where it can be a struggle to adjust and cope to unexpected losses, changes in our family dynamics, role responsibilities, relationships, and other life difficulties. It is my core belief as a therapist that the therapeutic relationship can provide great healing. I work with my clients in a confidential setting to build a safe and accepting environment that promotes client and therapist working together towards common goals for treatment. We work to achieve these goals utilizing therapeutic methods and interventions that allow hope and healing to occur for the client.

I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I utilize an integrated therapeutic method that works best for the individual client. The therapeutic methods I practice include cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused CBT, family systems, and client centered approach.

About Me: My name is Melinda (Mindy) Vanderschaaf. I graduated with my BS in Psychology from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in 2007. I then received my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University in 2010. I worked as a child welfare specialist for the state of Oklahoma from 2007-2011 while pursuing my Master's education. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oklahoma (#4983). I completed 3000 hours under supervision before becoming licensed and I complete continuing education each year to maintain my license in Oklahoma.
